Visiting restrictions lifted on Gilwern Unit at Hereford County Hospital

Visiting restrictions at the County Hospital’s Gilwern Unit have been lifted. The unit was closed to visitors last week following an outbreak of Norovirus. While visitors are now allowed back on the ward, it is important that any visitors with diarrhoea and/or vomiting do not visit the hospital until they have been free of symptoms for 48 hours. Ross Community Hospital wards temporarily closed to visitors due to diarrhoea and vomiting

Health bosses at Wye Valley NHS Trust have closed the two wards at Ross Community Hospital to visitors due to norovirus. Relatives of patients in the hospital are advised that limited visiting can be arranged on compassionate grounds. The decision has been taken as a preventative measure to halt the further spread of diarrhoea and vomiting which is affecting some patients.
