Fred Bulmer Unit outpatient clinic at Hereford County Hospital opened to its first patients this week following a £400k refurbishment of the facilities.
The new outpatient clinic area has been created by reconfiguring the existing facilities including office space and clinic rooms. There are now nine clinic rooms along with support facilities.
Whilst the refurbishment work was underway a number of outpatient speciality clinics were re-located to a temporary mobile unit Arkwright Suite.
Rachel Lowe, lead nurse manager at Wye Valley NHS Trust, said: “We are delighted with the newly refurbished outpatient clinic, funded by the Trust, which provides high quality facilities for delivering patient care and treatment.
“We wish to thank patients and staff for the understanding whilst the works were underway and the temporary mobile unit was in place.
“The Arkwright Suite will shortly be removed from the hospital site as these clinics are now taking place in the Fred Bulmer Unit.”
These improvements form part of the Trust’s five year estates strategy, which will enable Wye Valley NHS Trust to embark on a much needed programme to rebuild, expand, invest in more beds and in the latest diagnostic and other facilities.
