Wye Valley NHS Trust open day for those interested in working as a nurse

Wye Valley NHS Trust is to hold an open day event to give anyone considering a job as nurse a taste of what life at Hereford County Hospital is like.

The open day session, on Friday, February 2, from 11am to 2pm, is open to qualified nurses who may have left the profession and are considering a return, student nurses or new starters who have never thought about going into the nursing profession before.

“As one of a small number of Trust’s in the country that provides acute and community healthcare, Wye Valley NHS Trust is able to offer a variety of opportunities and progression for qualified nurses,” said Helen Byard, deputy director of nursing.

“We can offer a flexible work-life balance around families and can offer work as a nurse in both the acute hospital setting and in the community,” added Helen.

“Wye Valley NHS Trust is a very friendly Trust and strives to provide staff development opportunities in order to enhance the quality of care it delivers to patients.

“If you’re a qualified nurse who lives in the county, or just across the border, we’d love to see you at our open day.”

Helen added that the Trust is also keen to speak to people who may have considered nursing as a career but taken it no further.

“Working in a small hospital like Hereford County Hospital is about local people providing care for their local community. We’re a tight-knit professional team striving to provide the kind of care we’d want for our families and friends.”

The Trust is keen to appoint new nursing staff as soon as possible and suitable candidates will be offered interviews very quickly if they match the criteria.

“We can help you reach your full potential and make a real difference to patient care in your own local communities,” added Helen.

Anyone interested in attending the open day events should visit the Trust’s website – www.wyevalley.nhs.uk – to register their interest.

More details about the open day can be found on the Trust’s website under the “work with us” tab which includes information about what the Trust can offer and stories from staff already working at the Trust.
