Invitation to falls prevention event in Hereford High Town from 17 to 21 June
Residents are invited to the falls prevention event in Hereford High Town, from Monday June 17 to Friday June 21, for free advice from healthcare professionals.
Wye Valley NHS Trust’s community and inpatient falls prevention team will be on hand throughout the week, from 9.30am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, in Hereford High Town to give valuable advice and information.
Melanie Cassells, falls prevention service lead at Wye Valley NHS Trust, said. “Throughout the week, we will be available to offer advice regarding good nutrition and hydration, foot care and wearing suitable footwear, vision, ensuring your home is trip hazard free, and the importance of having medications reviewed regularly, which can all be contributory factors to falls.
“If you are concerned about your balance or dizziness or worried about a friend or relative, come along and have a chat with one of our expert team.
“We will also have a stock of walking stick ferrules, which fit onto the end of walking sticks and should be replaced regularly if you use a walking stick”.
To access specialist advice from the Trust’s falls prevention service, just simply turn up, there’s no need to make an appointment.
If you are unable to visit the event but would like an assessment or advice, call 01568 617309 or visit www.wyevalley.nhs.uk (community services, falls service).
