Press release – December 26 2020

There was room at the hospital on Christmas Day for a Hereford family with the arrival of a baby boy – a perfect festive gift.
Born at 2.41am, the baby, weighing in a 5lb 15oz, was the only baby born at Hereford County Hospital on the big day.
As is the tradition at the hospital, the family was given a special Christmas bauble to remind them of the birth in years to come, and the little one was also given a Christmas pudding hat!
Mother and baby are doing well.
Maria Pearman, inpatient matron maternity services at WVT, said: “Our midwives were overjoyed to celebrate with the proud parents the arrival of our special Christmas babies born at Hereford County Hospital.
“Every baby is a blessing and Christmas babies have a very special birthday. It was lovely to present the family with their special bauble and the Christmas pudding hat.”
“Our community midwifery and health visiting teams continue to provide specialist support when parents and their baby return home, through personalised care to help, support and advice all of our families”.
