Invitation to Wye Valley NHS Trust’s virtual Annual General Meeting and recognition of #AmazingWVTstaff

Press release – 26 June 2020

Invitation to Wye Valley NHS Trust’s virtual Annual General Meeting and recognition of #AmazingWVTstaff

Wye Valley NHS Trust is inviting members of the public and patients to its first virtual Annual General Meeting (AGM), which will include recognition of the hard work and innovative ways of working by #AmazingWVTstaff during the Covid pandemic.

Due to the current social distancing protocols in place, the Trust’s AGM will be streamed live on Wednesday 8 July 2020 at 5pm.  This can be accessed via the Trust’s website page www.wyevalley.nhs.uk/about-us/annual-general-meeting-2020

The Trust Board of directors will present an overview of the performance during the last twelve months, followed by recognition of all #AmazingWVTstaff at the Trust who have gone to great lengths to keep services running and provide high quality care for patients.

Russell Hardy, Chairman at Wye Valley NHS Trust, said: “This is a great opportunity to find out about the progress we have made in the last twelve months to deliver our quality priorities and strategic objectives, despite the huge challenges the NHS has faced during the coronavirus pandemic.

“We increased our bed capacity, planned for a huge surge in patients needing intensive care, increased the amount of oxygen and the number of ventilators available, repurposed departments and retrained staff within a very short timescale.

“This has required a herculean effort and our staff have responded to these pressures and demands magnificently.  This year’s AGM recognises their hard work and commitment, and innovative ways of working, which have supported the Trust’s management of the pandemic in Herefordshire”.

The agenda, minutes from last year’s meeting, summary Annual Report, and full Annual Report/Accounts will be available prior to the meeting on the Trust’s website www.wyevalley.nhs.uk/about-us/annual-general-meeting-2020.

If you would like to submit questions to the Trust Board, please email your questions by 5pm on 6 July 2020 to Erica.hermon@wvt.nhs.uk

Supplementary questions can also be submitted up to 48 hours after the AGM has taken place.
