Visiting restrictions updated - 18/8/20
Visiting restrictions have been eased at our hospitals for patients who have been in hospital for ten days or more who will now be able to have visitors under a restricted visiting regime.
However, there are exceptions where visiting to specific areas is still not permitted. Please see below further information regarding this and please do not just visit our hospitals without following the visiting regime outlined below.

About Wye Ward
The County Hospital Stroke Unit is located on Wye Ward, which can be found on the first floor of the main hospital building.
A stroke unit is an organized in-hospital facility that is devoted to care for patients with stroke. It is staffed by a multidisciplinary team with specialist knowledge in stroke care.
Wye Ward is a 26 bedded stroke unit which includes:
- A 6 bedded hyper acute stroke unit (HASU) which is generally used for the initial part of your stay on the ward.
- The remaining 20 beds are a mix of acute and rehabilitation stroke beds, where you will continue to have your rehabilitation at this acute stage of stroke recovery.

- Occupational therapists
- Speech and language therapists
- Therapy support workers
Each of the team members has a special interest/expertise in stroke care. You may not meet all of the team if their input is not required or necessary.
