Debbie Pepper, Staff Nurse, ITU
Debbie said: "I started working at WVT in 1999. I started as a bank worker in what was then the NHSP. I was then asked to help out in the human resources department, where I gained my qualifications in Personnel Practices.
"I then went on to run an orthotic clinic in trauma and orthopaedics. From there I applied for the clerk position in theatres. I was there for seven years and that’s where my mangers encouraged to me apply for my nurse training.
I am very proud to work for the NHS, especially here at WVT
"I was very lucky to be seconded by theatres and the Trust to do my nurse training. I have now been qualified for over two years and have just started working in ITU after spending two years on Arrow Ward.
"My career in the NHS has been very varied and very rewarding. Throughout my career I have always been supported by my peers.
"I can honestly say I can’t see myself working anywhere else. I am very proud to work for the NHS and especially at Wye Valley NHS Trust".
