Sleep service

The Sleep Service offers specialist diagnostic tests and treatment to people with a wide range of sleep disorders.

Over 2,000 patients with obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) are currently treated with positive airway pressure (CPAP) systems.

We provide clinics at both Hinton Community Centre, in Hereford, and at Hereford County Hospital.

The majority of our referrals are related to sleep disordered breathing, but even if you have symptoms of other sleep conditions, it is standard practice that you would have to be screened for sleep apnoea first before being considered for other tests or treatments.

We also support patients with non-respiratory sleep disorders.

We are  able to provide telephone consultations and reviews where possible to avoid unnecessary hospital visits.

Video about the sleep service

Watch our staff recognition vidoe, which explains more about the sleep service and the team.

NIV machine

If you are currently on Non-invasive ventilation (NIV), please register with the Ofgem priority services register to ensure that, in the event of a power cut, you will be notified of this.

If you have more than one NIV machine, get in contact with the Sleep Service to arrange to collect a battery pack.
