The Delivery Suite at Hereford County Hospital provides both Consultant-led and Midwife-led care. It is situated on the second floor, adjacent to the Maternity Ward. The Delivery Suite is equipped to meet your needs and you will be offered the full range and choice of pain relief options, depending on your birth plan. Once you’ve had your baby, you’ll move to the Maternity Ward.  Our delivery suite comprises of five, good sized birthing rooms. The maternity ward is located on the second floor at Hereford County Hospital. If you are not wishing for an early discharge from Delivery Suite or if you and your baby need some additional monitoring or support with feeding then you will be transferred to Maternity Ward shortly after birth. When you arrive a midwife will be assigned to care for you and they will come and introduce themselves. When you are on biologic drugs (or biosimilar) you are more likely to get food poisoning, because part of your body’s immune system is being altered. In order to avoid the risk of salmonella, listeria and e.coli you shouldn’t eat the following foods: Unpasteurised milk and dairy products, e.g. cheese made from unpasteurised milk. Mould ripened soft cheeses (e.g. Brie and Camembert) and blue cheeses (whether pasteurised or not), feta and goats cheeses. Raw eggs, or foods containing uncooked egg (e.g. home-made mayonnaise). Blossom and Lavender RoomFunded through our Charity ‘The Born Sleeping Appeal’ at Hereford County Hospital we have a specially designed home from home suite called the Blossom Suite. Here you can be cared for after birth and spend time with your baby should you wish. Set apart from the maternity department we have a private room called the Lavender Room that can be used for counselling or follow up appointments. Local Counter Fraud Specialist We have a Local Counter Fraud service provided for Wye Valley NHS Trust who hold the required accreditation to undertake such work. The Trust is responsible for the administration of public funds for the purpose of providing health care to the community we serve. If you have been referred by your GP they will have automatically made you an appointment via the “Choose and Book” system, though please note this is subject to change and the RMC may contact you to change this. If referred by another speciality the Consultant will triage your referral and decide whether you need to be seen routinely or urgently and an appointment will subsequently be made and sent to you via post.

At Wye Valley NHS Trust we provide the following diagnostic tests: 1. Multi-night overnight oximetry – This involves wearing a watch-like monitor on a finger during sleep and is done at home. It is collected from the sleep clinic, worn overnight over a minimum of two consecutive nights and then returned for a recording of your night's sleep to be downloaded. 2. Limited Channel Sleep study – This is a slightly more in-depth test. It involves attending the sleep clinic for a ‘fitting’ session and then the equipment.
