Work experience
Welcome to Wye Valley NHS Trust work placement and work experience opportunities.
As the largest employer in the UK the NHS has over 350 different careers to choose from. You could be a speech and language therapist, chef, dietitian, cleaner, secretary, engineer, laboratory scientist, occupational therapist, or maybe a surgeon. The list goes on.
Work experience and work placements within the NHS aim to show you how the NHS really works and what the NHS is really like. It can also help you develop lots of transferable skills like being a part of a team and communication skills, which may help give you a head start when you apply for a job or university course. Participating in work experience and/or work placements also demonstrates a commitment to your future career within the organisation.
Wye Valley NHS Trust is committed to widening access, supporting people into and staying in a career within the NHS. We have various clinical and non-clinical specialities, departments, teams and roles that can be accessed as part of your work experience/placement experience!
It might be that you already work in the Trust and just want to explore what other roles or teams are like to work in to help you decide on a new career path.
We offer up to 75 hours of work experience hours, which gives plenty of time for individuals to move around the Trust and work with different teams. We have various work experience offers.
