Parents and midwives celebrated the best start to 2026 with the arrival of three babies born on New Year’s Day, 1 January 2026, at Hereford County Hospital.
Two baby girls and one baby boy were born on the delivery suite. The first, a baby girl, was born just before 9am, and the last also a baby girl born just before 7pm.
The midwifery team were delighted to gift each baby a festive bauble and a hat to celebrate their arrival.
Susan Hughes, deputy director of Midwifery at Valley NHS Trust, said: “We’re privileged to share the arrival of these wonderful new born babies with their families on this special New Year’s Day.
“Every baby is a blessing and babies born at this time of the year have very special birthdays. It was lovely to present the family with the bauble and hat for their baby.
“We wish the families of all babies born both on 1 January and throughout the year, a very Happy New Year.”
