The Children’s Hearing Centre is a department that provides a friendly and approachable service for all children aged 16 and below. We work with families and carers to deliver an accessible service which aims to provide early identification, assessment and treatment for children of all ages and abilities. The Podiatry department provides care to patients who have a significant foot condition and a relevant medical history.  Many of these patients require ongoing treatment. We aim to keep patients feet healthy and pain free, thereby enable patients to remain mobile, independent and active for as long as possible. We treat a wide range of, mainly painful, foot conditions and aim to identify the cause and, where possible, seek a resolution. The Intensive Therapy Unit has six beds and provides both High Dependency (level 2) and Intensive Care (Level 3). We are able to provide all forms of multi-organ support for critically ill patients. We provide an Outreach service, staffed by experienced critical care nurses. This allows early intervention in critically ill patients, ward staff education and ITU patient follow-up. We are part of the Birmingham and Black Country Critical Network and submit data to the Intensive Care National Audit and Research Centre (ICNARC). We hope you find this information helpful.   The Breast Surgery Department specialises in diagnosing and managing breast disorders, and where necessary breast surgery is conducted to remove cancerous tumours and lymph nodes.  If breast surgery is required this is currently being carried out at the County Hospital in Hereford. The County Hospital offers 10 new patient clinics every week allowing excellent access to the breast services. Back to Cardiac Services Rapid Cardiology is a cardiology clinic for patients newly referred for early assessment and investigation of symptoms including chest pain/discomfort, breathlessness and palpitations. The clinics are led by cardiology nurse specialists and cardiology clinical assistants. Patients are assessed and may have further tests such as ECGs, echocardiograms, ambulatory/ECG monitoring or exercise tolerance tests (this is where patients walk on an exercise treadmill with heart and blood pressure monitoring) and myoview scans.
