We hope you find this information helpful.   The Breast Surgery Department specialises in diagnosing and managing breast disorders, and where necessary breast surgery is conducted to remove cancerous tumours and lymph nodes.  If breast surgery is required this is currently being carried out at the County Hospital in Hereford. The County Hospital offers 10 new patient clinics every week allowing excellent access to the breast services. The Haematology Department provides diagnostic (often on a one-stop basis) and treatment facilities for a wide range of benign and malignant conditions including acute and chronic leukaemias, myeloma, lymphomas, anaemias, bleeding and clotting disorders. The department runs anticoagulation clinics across the county in Ross on Wye, Ledbury, Leominster, Kingsland and Hereford using near patient testing and computerised decision support software (DAWN system). Clinics are staffed by nurses or Biomedical scientists with a specialist qualification in anticoagulant care. There are many ways to help. However much time you are able to give, there will be a role to suit you. There are opportunities at the County Hospital site in Hereford, the community hospitals in Leominster, Bromyard and Ross-on-Wye, and also from home.
