About our service The Children's Community Nurses (CCN) provide nursing care to children aged 0 up to their 18th birthday who have an identified nursing need and are registered with a Herefordshire GP. This extends to the age of 19 years for those in specialist educational setting. Care is provided to enable Children and Young Peoples' acute and complex health needs to be managed in their own homes, schools and respite centres. The Dietetic Department provides services to patients in The County Hospital and Community Hospitals. This includes: Advice and support for inpatients at The County Hospital Outpatient clinics at The County Hospital including specialist Adult and Paediatric clinics Support for the Community Hospitals Support for patients on artificial feeding at home We are based in the Therapy Services Department and the Diabetes Unit.  Our team includes 11 qualified dietitians, one assistant practitioner and two dietetic assistant. Gynaecology is the branch of medicine that deals with disorders of the woman’s reproductive system. We deal with various women’s health problems including early pregnancy ones. The doctors in the department are also obstetricians and so work closely with the midwives in the maternity department. There are some clinics that take place on the second floor Women's Health area and are shared with the antenatal clinics and the pregnancy scanning department. Most pregnancies will only require care from a midwife and sometimes an obstetrician.  Very occasionally we may identify a concern with your baby’s growth or development that requires input from a specialist fetal medicine consultant. At Hereford County Hospital we do not have this facility on site. It is therefore, at times, necessary to refer you to another hospital.  In most cases this will be to Worcester Royal Hospital, but occasionally can be to Birmingham Women’s Hospital. Welcome to our paediatric outpatient department and Children's Ward.  The Paediatric department (Children's ward) provides inpatient and outpatient treatment of medical and surgical conditions, in children from birth up to the seventeenth birthday. The Children's ward deals with medical conditions and also provides facilities for many surgical specialties. The majority of children needing surgery can be treated in Hereford.  However, surgery in young children (generally under two years of age) and specialist surgery is referred to a specialist Children’s hospital, usually Birmingham.
