Our theatre team undertake more than 13,000 operations every year for inpatients and day surgery patients. We care for our patients by ensuring that operations are carried out in the safest, most modern surroundings, with high quality care and treatment, provided by our expert theatre surgeons and theatre teams. The pre-operative assessment unit is situated at the back of the hospital which is clearly sign posted from the main entrance.  It is approximately a 5-10 minute walk from the main entrance but if you require assistance or a wheelchair please ask at the hospital main reception. Respiratory consultants specialise in disorders relating to the lungs. These disorders are diagnosed after investigations are carried out, such as pulmonary function tests and/or bronchoscopy. The consultants interpret the results of these investigations to guide treatment which is commonly delivered through the use of drugs, such as inhalers. In December 2017, Wye Valley NHS Trust embarked on a fundraising appeal to improve the maternity bereavement facilities, services and aftercare support provided at Hereford County Hospital. A project group was formed to oversee the project. This included patient representatives to look at existing practices and procedures to ensure the new facility offered meets the needs of bereaved families and continually developed, reviewed and improved.
