Gynaecology is the branch of medicine that deals with disorders of the woman’s reproductive system. We deal with various women’s health problems including early pregnancy ones. The doctors in the department are also obstetricians and so work closely with the midwives in the maternity department. Welcome to our paediatric outpatient department and Children's Ward.  The Paediatric department (Children's ward) provides inpatient and outpatient treatment of medical and surgical conditions, in children from birth up to the seventeenth birthday. The Children's ward deals with medical conditions and also provides facilities for many surgical specialties. The majority of children needing surgery can be treated in Hereford.  However, surgery in young children (generally under two years of age) and specialist surgery is referred to a specialist Children’s hospital, usually Birmingham. Introduction The Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) department provides diagnostic and treatment facilities for a wide range of ear, nose and throat diseases. Outline of the department The department consists of four consultants who provide services between Hereford and Worcester. They are supported by one Foundation Year doctor, one resident doctor, and two clinical nurse specialists. There is a fully staffed audiology department providing hearing services and hearing aids. Colorectal Surgery at The County Hospital is provided by a multidisciplinary team of surgeons, gastroenterologists, radiologists, pathologists, oncologists and specialist nurses.  Outpatient assessment, investigation, treatment and follow-up are provided for all colorectal surgical conditions, including colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel conditions (crohns’ disease and ulcerative colitis), functional bowel disorders (constipation and incontinence) and anorectal conditions (fistula-in-ano, fissures, haemorrhoids etc.).  Minimally invasive (laparoscopic) colorectal surgery is well developed, and enhanced recovery is provided by a dedicated team of doctors, physiotherapists, dieticians, specialist and ward nurses and other staff.  Colorectal surgical patients are admitted to Frome ward and Primrose Unit (Elective).
