Injection site reactions include redness, itching, pain or swelling at the injection site. They mostly occur 1 to 2 days after an injection and go away within 3 to 5 days. Change the injection site each time you inject (e.g. rotate from one leg to another leg). Apply a cold compress to the injection site. Antihistamine tablets can help. If you continue to experience problems please contact us and we will be able to provide you further advice.
The Neurology Department in The County Hospital consists of two Consultant Neurologists who visit The County Hospital from the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham. Dr Clinton Mitchell (Clinical Lead) – works remotely for 5 weeks off-site then on-site face to face every 6th week Dr Shanika Samarasekera (Visiting Consultant from QEHB) – Wednesdays (twice monthly). Dr Aamir Ijaz – (Locum) - works remotely Monday & Tuesday. On-site Wednesday and Thursday.

I started working at the Trust in August 2005. I had just qualified as a Diagnostic Radiographer at Birmingham City University. The Children's Hearing Centre receives referrals from: Newborn Hearing Screening Programme (NHSP) General Practitioners (GP's) Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) Consultants Paediatricians Health Visitors Speech and Language Therapists School Nurses School Hearing Screener If you are concerned about your child’s hearing, please speak to your health visitor or GP about a referral to our service. We aim to see children within 6 weeks of receipt of a referral in most cases, or sooner if there is an urgent need (for example post-meningitis, or if there is a sudden change in hearing).
