The Intensive Therapy Unit has six beds and provides both High Dependency (level 2) and Intensive Care (Level 3). We are able to provide all forms of multi-organ support for critically ill patients. We provide an Outreach service, staffed by experienced critical care nurses. This allows early intervention in critically ill patients, ward staff education and ITU patient follow-up. We are part of the Birmingham and Black Country Critical Network and submit data to the Intensive Care National Audit and Research Centre (ICNARC). Musculoskeletal Musculoskeletal problems are referred to the service by a GP or consultant. Referrals for service users being seen in a physiotherapy department (Bromyard. Ledbury, Kington, Leominster, Ross) will be screened by a senior physiotherapist and classed as either urgent or routine. Service users are telephoned to make an appointment if urgent. If the referral is routine they will be sent a letter asking them to telephone the relevant physiotherapy department to make a convenient appointment. There are opportunities at the County Hospital site in Hereford, the community hospitals in Leominster, Bromyard and Ross-on-Wye, and also from home. Usual volunteer hours are Monday to Friday, either in the morning or afternoon. We do, however, also have some weekend and evening roles available too.
