We provide a full range of diagnostic services to all of Herefordshire together with some areas of Powys, Shropshire and Monmouthshire. Patients are referred to the department from a variety of sources such as GPs, hospital wards, clinics and the Accident and Emergency department. All patients and visitors to this department must use the designated A&E entrance. The Sleep Service offers specialist diagnostic tests and treatment to people with a wide range of sleep disorders. Over 2,000 patients with obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) are currently treated with positive airway pressure (CPAP) systems. We provide clinics at both Hinton Community Centre, in Hereford, and at Hereford County Hospital. The majority of our referrals are related to sleep disordered breathing, but even if you have symptoms of other sleep conditions, it is standard practice that you would have to be screened for sleep apnoea first before being considered for other tests or treatments. Introduction The Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) department provides diagnostic and treatment facilities for a wide range of ear, nose and throat diseases. Outline of the department The department consists of four consultants who provide services between Hereford and Worcester.
