The Neurophysiology department at The County Hospital provides a comprehensive neurophysiology diagnostic service to both inpatients and outpatients. Investigations include EEG (Electroencephalogram), Ambulatory EEG, Multiple Sleep Latency Testing and Evoked Responses. The service also provides physiologist and consultant led nerve conduction studies and consultant only electromyography (EMG). We accept GP referrals for most of our investigations.  All GP referrals can now be made via the NHS e-referral system. About our service The Children's Community Nurses (CCN) provide nursing care to children aged 0 up to their 18th birthday who have an identified nursing need and are registered with a Herefordshire GP. This extends to the age of 19 years for those in specialist educational setting. Care is provided to enable Children and Young Peoples' acute and complex health needs to be managed in their own homes, schools and respite centres. Back to Orthopaedics The orthotics department offers assessment, advice and provision of orthoses, these are bodily devices applied in such a manner to reduce pain, improve function and mobility. The orthopeadic surgeon may suggest the use of an orthotic as part of your treatment. We provide a full range of diagnostic services to all of Herefordshire together with some areas of Powys, Shropshire and Monmouthshire. Patients are referred to the department from a variety of sources such as GPs, hospital wards, clinics and the Accident and Emergency department. It brings together the latest MRI, CT, X-ray, and Ultrasound technology, enabling us to play a vital role in identifying and treating illnesses more quickly and closer to home.

Hereford County Hospital address The postcode and address is Stonebow Road, The County Hospital, Hereford, HR1 2BN Accident & Emergency location The Accident & Emergency (A&E) department is located at the far end of the main hospital building. All patients and visitors to this department must use the designated A&E entrance. There is a drop-off and collection point at the main A&E entrance, and designated parking spaces for individuals with disabilities. The parking area is managed by a private contractor and charges apply, though concessions are available. There is more information on how to find us and available parking.

Referral to general podiatry is through your GP or other Healthcare Professional. The service will triage referrals taking into account your medical history, foot condition and level of pain, prioritising those patients with greatest need.  Nail surgery is available to patients from 12 years upwards. Children biomechanics available to children aged 8-17 years. We work to the 18 week referral to treatment time. Urgent referrals are given priority and seen in the next available clinic.
