Introduction Wye Valley NHS Trust has temporarily paused its home birth service while it carries out a thorough review of how the service is delivered. Although no safety concerns have been identified, this decision follows a national request for all NHS Trusts to assess the sustainability and safety of their home birth provision. We start to talk about discharge with you as early as possible and we will inform you as soon as possible of the date and destination of your discharge.  Sometimes our assessments show that you may need additional support at home, or that, in some cases, it may no longer be possible for you to manage at home, in which case moving to residential or nursing care may be necessary.
