Colorectal Surgery at The County Hospital is provided by a multidisciplinary team of surgeons, gastroenterologists, radiologists, pathologists, oncologists and specialist nurses.  Outpatient assessment, investigation, treatment and follow-up are provided for all colorectal surgical conditions, including colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel conditions (crohns’ disease and ulcerative colitis), functional bowel disorders (constipation and incontinence) and anorectal conditions (fistula-in-ano, fissures, haemorrhoids etc.).  Minimally invasive (laparoscopic) colorectal surgery is well developed, and enhanced recovery is provided by a dedicated team of doctors, physiotherapists, dieticians, specialist and ward nurses and other staff.  Colorectal surgical patients are admitted to Frome ward and Primrose Unit (Elective). The Sleep Service offers specialist diagnostic tests and treatment to people with a wide range of sleep disorders. Over 2,000 patients with obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) are currently treated with positive airway pressure (CPAP) systems. We provide clinics at both Hinton Community Centre, in Hereford, and at Hereford County Hospital. The majority of our referrals are related to sleep disordered breathing, but even if you have symptoms of other sleep conditions, it is standard practice that you would have to be screened for sleep apnoea first before being considered for other tests or treatments. We hope you find this information helpful.   The Breast Surgery Department specialises in diagnosing and managing breast disorders, and where necessary breast surgery is conducted to remove cancerous tumours and lymph nodes.  If breast surgery is required this is currently being carried out at the County Hospital in Hereford. The County Hospital offers 10 new patient clinics every week allowing excellent access to the breast services.
