Service overview The Health Psychology and Neuropsychology Service provides specialist psychology services for people affected by Acquired Brain Injury, Stroke, Cancer, Palliative Care and Long-Term Physical Health Conditions. We provide psychological support through individual, couple or sometimes family sessions, through groups, and by advising and supporting other services. We use a range of psychological approaches, and are staffed by clinical psychologists, counsellors/psychological therapists, an assistant psychologist and administrators. Musculoskeletal Musculoskeletal problems are referred to the service by a GP or consultant. Referrals for service users being seen in a physiotherapy department (Bromyard. Ledbury, Kington, Leominster, Ross) will be screened by a senior physiotherapist and classed as either urgent or routine. Service users are telephoned to make an appointment if urgent. If the referral is routine they will be sent a letter asking them to telephone the relevant physiotherapy department to make a convenient appointment. Urgent referrals should be assessed within 14 working days. Routine referrals should be assessed within six weeks. In both cases service users are assessed…

Outline of the department The department consists of four consultants who provide services between Hereford and Worcester. Referral to treatment - waiting times We have put a number of measures in place to reduce waiting times for patients following the pandemic and the sustained pressure on NHS services.
