Welcome to our paediatric outpatient department and Children's Ward.  The Paediatric department (Children's ward) provides inpatient and outpatient treatment of medical and surgical conditions, in children from birth up to the seventeenth birthday. The Children's ward deals with medical conditions and also provides facilities for many surgical specialties. The majority of children needing surgery can be treated in Hereford.  However, surgery in young children (generally under two years of age) and specialist surgery is referred to a specialist Children’s hospital, usually Birmingham. Service overview The Health Psychology Service provides specialist psychology services for people affected by Acquired Brain Injury, Stroke, Cancer, Palliative Care and Long-Term Physical Health Conditions.  We provide psychological support through individual, couple, or sometimes family sessions, through groups, and by advising and supporting other services.  We use a range of psychological approaches, and are staffed by clinical psychologists and an assistant psychologist with administrative support. If you have any concerns or queries in the days following your discharge, please call your GP, they will have a copy of your discharge summary and will be able to assist. If further therapy is needed after your stay in hospital then a referral will have been made to our community stroke therapy team. Dependent on your needs this will either be a referral for early supported discharge or for ongoing community stroke team input. You will be made aware of this before discharge. Blossom and Lavender RoomFunded through our Charity ‘The Born Sleeping Appeal’ at Hereford County Hospital we have a specially designed home from home suite called the Blossom Suite. Here you can be cared for after birth and spend time with your baby should you wish. Set apart from the maternity department we have a private room called the Lavender Room that can be used for counselling or follow up appointments. Referral to general podiatry is through your GP or other Healthcare Professional. The service will triage referrals taking into account your medical history, foot condition and level of pain, prioritising those patients with greatest need.  Nail surgery is available to patients from 12 years upwards. Children biomechanics available to children aged 8-17 years. We work to the 18 week referral to treatment time. Urgent referrals are given priority and seen in the next available clinic. Urgent referrals to the Podiatric Specialist in Diabetes are usually seen within 3 days. Podiatry referral can be made via Electronic  Referral System or paper referral…
At Wye Valley NHS Trust we provide the following diagnostic tests: 1. Multi-night overnight oximetry – This involves wearing a watch-like monitor on a finger during sleep and is done at home. It is collected from the sleep clinic, worn overnight over a minimum of two consecutive nights and then returned for a recording of your night's sleep to be downloaded. 2. Limited Channel Sleep study – This is a slightly more in-depth test. It involves attending the sleep clinic for a ‘fitting’ session and then the equipment. This is worn overnight at home and returned the next day. It…
