Qualifications

Mr Rao studied medicine in Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad, India graduating in 1996. His Orthopaedic training was at Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital, Oswestry (Shropshire) and University Hospital of North Staffordshire, Stoke-on-Trent. During his Orthopaedic training, he was awarded Masters degree in Orthopaedic Engineering from Cardiff University. He further underwent fellowship training in foot and ankle surgery at the University hospital of Southampton. He has been a Consultant since 2010.

Mr. Rao has published original research in hip and knee replacement surgery in peer-reviewed journals and has many national and international conference research presentations on lower limb surgery.

Outpatient Services

Clinic

  • Theatre work, Monday, County Hospital
  • Orthopaedic clinic, Tuesday morning and afternoon, County Hospital
  • Fracture clinic, Thursday morning and afternoon, County Hospital

Inpatient and Day Case Services

Mr Rao and his team operate all day Friday.
