Sleep Service

The Sleep Service offers specialist diagnostic tests and treatments to people with a wide range of sleep disorders. There are several sleep clinics held at the centre each week.

Referrals are received from GPs and hospital doctors.

Over 2,000 patients with obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) are currently treated with positive airway pressure (CPAP) systems. The centre also receives referrals for complex sleep conditions and Insomnia. 

Recall - The Recall action for Philips Respironics CPAP machines is ongoing. If you have not been contacted for a replacement machine, please get in touch with the Sleep Service to arrange this. NIV machine
If you are currently on Non-invasive ventilation (NIV), please register with https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/get-help-your-supplier-priority-services-register to ensure that, in the event of a power cut, you will be notified of this.

If you have more than one NIV machine, get in contact with the Sleep Service to arrange to collect a battery pack. Contact 07790981645 on Monday, Wednesday or Friday between 09am and 04pm. Alternatively, contact 07790981646 between 09 am and 4pm Mon-Fri.

About our local community sleep clinic:

• Provides a specialist opinion about OSA and other sleep disorders close to the point of referral.
• Carry out sleep studies in the patient’s own home.
• Provide CPAP in a timely fashion where clinically indicated.
• Local follow up to support the patient and maintain their equipment so as to maximise the benefits and compliance.
• Be a gateway to our inpatient services, complex sleep studies and advanced respiratory support as required.
• Easily accessible base at Hinton community centre with benefits of free parking to patients.

Our aim is to make the expertise of the sleep service accessible to a wide population outside the hospital setting and care closer to home. Our team includes specialist Consultant Physicians, Clinical Scientists/Physiologists and experienced practitioners.

Spares and repairs clinic 

Spares and Repairs is a clinic designed for our patients to have access to information. It is useful if a patient needs any advice or consumables, or if they have any concerns. 

The line is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday, between 9am and 4 pm. You can leave a message with your name and number and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
