Feedback from families

‘When I arrived I was checked and I was 3cm, when I was checked again I was 4cm then I was fully very quickly, but baby was very high and back to back so I had a caesarean birth. Even though this was not a planned caesarean birth, staff were very reassuring and kept me calm. My baby needs antibiotics and it’s lovely that I can go with him when he goes to SCBU to have them. When I use the call bell staff come as soon as they can and help me’.

‘All members of staff have made this a positive experience. We have had times when we have followed the advice and times when we didn’t, but we were not treated any differently for going against advice and felt supported in our choices.  Even though we didn’t have the birth we had planned the experience was positive, we felt in control and it was a good experience.’

‘I am having an induction of labour and am included in all decisions regarding my care.  I feel I am part of the team! All of the midwives have been great, it’s more than a job to them and you know they really do care’.

‘My experience of maternity care at Wye Valley NHS Trust as, on the whole, been outstanding. Each midwife has been supportive and really approachable. Thank you for everything.’
